Memory Loss Support Programs
Augustana offers several programs and supports families dealing with memory loss in a variety of ways.
The Gathering offers a day of renwal for people experiencing early-to-mid-stage memory loss–engaging them in a variety of stimulating activities with a specially trained group of volunteers. While their loved ones enjoy a safe and engaging time, caregivers can do errands, visit with a friend or rest in order to replenish their energies for their role of caregiving. The Gathering is coordinated by Lyngblomsten.
Augustana hosts The Gathering on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. Salem Lutheran hosts the program on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
If this is a ministry with which you would like to get involved, or if you or someone you know could benefit from Care Team, please contact Mary Nordtvedt, Faith Community Nurse.
