Kids' Kingdom (Sunday School) 

9:45 to 10:45 am (September to May)
Augustana uses the Workshop Rotation Model, a learning environment where children in grades 1 through 6 rotate to a different Learning Center each week. Bible stories are explored in-depth and each Learning Center activity focuses on a particular area, for example, crafts, science, games, videos, Bible study or cooking.

Children three years old through kindergarten stay in their classrooms with the same teachers each Sunday and do not participate in Workshop Rotation Model.

Parenting Seminars

Once each month the Children & Family Ministry program will offer free parenting seminars on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Nursery and activities for school-age children will be provided. These seminars are open to everyone so invite your friends and neighbors.

Teach Your Child the Value of a Buck

BASIC - Brothers And Sisters In Christ
This group is for young people in grades 4 to 6. Its purpose is to promote youth involvement at Augustana through social activities. At BASIC activities, children socialize with other young Christians, become involved in the service and worship life of Augustana, and have fun. Parents lead group activities which may include horseback riding, bike rides, snow tubing, and bowling.

Summer Programs
Augustana offers many camps throughout the summer for children of all ages. Dates for 2012 camps will be posted after the first of the year.

Camp Wapo

• Seeds (finishing grades 2 & 3) July 6 to 8
• Tim Team (finishing grade 10 and above), July 6 to 13
• Youth Week (finishing grades 4 to 9), July 8 to 13

First Communion
Augustana welcomes children in 2nd grade and older to participate in the first Communion class. Classes are usually held in February or March. Students and parents must attend one of the classes to be communed. Children learn about the Exodus, the Last Supper, and about the Sacrament of Holy Communion as we celebrate it today. We celebrate First Communion for children during a service on Holy Thursday.

First Communion Class

First Communion classes are offered to children in second grade or higher and their families in the spring. The 2012 classes will be offered on Tuesday, March 13 OR Thursday, March 22 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. All children who are second grade and above who haven't made their First Communion are invtied to attend ONE of these two classes. Parents must attend with your child. First Communion is celebrated at a special service on Holy Thursday.
