Ministries and Events :: Music Ministry

Augustana has a long history of providing excellent music, including choirs and ensembles. All Augustana members are invited to participate in these groups. In addition to the strong vocal tradition, Augustana has a variety of ways members can participate in ongoing instrumental ensembles and share their musical gifts on a specific Sunday.

Senior Choir
Wednesdays, 8:00 to 9:00 pm (September to May)

Augustana's Senior Choir stirs the soul with anthems and offertories and leads the congregation in service music every Sunday during the program year. This 60-voice choir sings many styles of music. Emphasis is placed on spiritual growth and enjoyment through music.All adults are invited to sing.

Rejoice! Ringers Bell Choir
Wednesdays, 7:00 to 8:00 pm (September to May)

Adult handbell musicians are invited to participate in the Rejoice! Ringers. They play in church once or twice a month.

Agape Choir
Wednesdays, 7:00 to 7:45 pm (September to May)

The Agape Choir is made up of young women who are in grades 7 through 12. They sing in Sunday worship approximately twice a month. The Agape Choir enjoys singing in harmony and learning music in a variety of styles.

Alleluia Bells

The Alleluia Bells handbell choir is for youth in grades 9 to 12. They play in church once or twice each month.

Chorister Choir
Wednesdays, 6:15 to 7:00 pm (September to May)

The Chorister Choir is made up of children in grades 4 through 6 This choir sings in Sunday worship approximately twice a month. Children are given a variety of musical experiences.

Cherub Choir
Wednesdays, 6:15 to 7:00 pm (September to May)

Augustana's children in grades 1 through 3 can sing in the Cherub Choir. Children have an opportunity to sing a variety of music, play instruments, and promote a love of music. The children sing approximately once per month throughout the school year.
